PROSPERITY WITH PURPOSE
Scripture Reading
“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant…”
— Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV)
Message
God’s desire is not simply to give us resources but to give our resources purpose. Prosperity becomes meaningful when what God places in our hands is used to fulfill His purposes, serve others, and advance His kingdom.
The Bible shows us that wealth itself is not evil. Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, David, Lydia, and others possessed significant resources, yet their lives were connected to purposes greater than personal accumulation. God can bless a person financially and still expect that person to remain humble, generous, diligent, and devoted to Him.
Deuteronomy 8:18 reminds us that God gives the power to create wealth. This includes the ability to think, innovate, work, build, manage, solve problems, and create value. Your skills and ideas can become channels through which God provides for you and others.
But prosperity without purpose can become dangerous. If increase becomes the center of our lives, we can easily begin serving money instead of using money to serve God’s purposes. Jesus warned against storing up treasures while neglecting the condition of the soul.
Ask yourself: “If God increases my resources, what will I do with the increase?”
Will you provide responsibly for your family?
Will you create opportunities for others?
Will you support worthy causes and the work of the Gospel?
Will you help people rise?
Will you use your influence to make a difference?
Your answer reveals the purpose behind your prayer for prosperity.
God can trust you with more when your heart understands why more matters.
Therefore, don’t pursue prosperity merely to prove that you have succeeded. Pursue purposeful prosperity—resources that help you fulfill your assignment, bless others, and bring glory to God.
Confession
God is my source, and everything I have ultimately belongs to Him.
He gives me wisdom, creativity, diligence, and ability to create value and increase.
I will not allow money to control my heart.
My prosperity will have purpose.
My resources will provide, create opportunities, bless others, and advance God’s purposes.
I will remain faithful to God in abundance and in every season. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
