THE GRACE TO BUILD WEALTH
Scripture Reading
“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant…”
— Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV)
Message
God gives us grace not only to receive provision but also to develop the wisdom, capacity, and discipline required to build lasting wealth.
Wealth creation begins with understanding. God can give you ideas, skills, creativity, opportunities, relationships, and the ability to recognize problems that you can solve. But these gifts must be developed through learning, diligence, discipline, and consistent action.
The grace to build wealth is therefore not a promise of effortless riches. It is the divine enablement to work wisely, create value, steward resources, and remain faithful over time.
Proverbs teaches that diligent planning leads to abundance. This means we should learn how to budget, save, invest prudently, manage debt responsibly, develop valuable skills, and build sustainable sources of income.
Joseph’s story demonstrates the power of wisdom and stewardship. During years of abundance, he developed a strategy that prepared Egypt for years of famine. His ability to manage resources transformed a difficult situation into an opportunity to preserve countless lives.
God may place an idea in your heart, but you must develop it.
He may give you an opportunity, but you must prepare for it.
He may give you resources, but you must steward them wisely.
Don’t despise small beginnings. Start with what you have. Learn what you don’t know. Improve your skills. Save consistently. Avoid destructive financial decisions. Build patiently.
And never allow the pursuit of wealth to become more important than your relationship with God.
The goal is not simply to become wealthy. The goal is to become a faithful steward who can handle increase without losing purpose, character, or peace.
