THE GOD WHO HAS BROUGHT ME INTO PLENTY
SCRIPTURE
Deuteronomy 8:7 (KJV)
“For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths, that spring out of valleys and hills.”
FROM THE WILDERNESS INTO PLENTY
God is not only interested in bringing His children out of difficult situations; He also leads them into the fullness of His purpose. Israel’s journey from Egypt to the Promised Land reveals a God who delivers, guides, sustains, and brings His people into a place of abundance.
In Deuteronomy 8, Moses reminded Israel that the wilderness was not their destination. God had sustained them through the journey, taught them dependence on Him, and prepared them for the land He had promised. Their entrance into that land was an expression of His faithfulness.
Notice, however, the instruction that followed. In Deuteronomy 8:18, Moses declared that it is God who gives power to get wealth. This reveals an important spiritual principle: divine provision is accompanied by divine enablement. God gives wisdom, strength, abilities, and opportunities through which people can create value and fulfil their responsibilities.
As a child of God, do not become so occupied with the memory of yesterday’s struggles that you fail to recognise the opportunities before you today. Your present season may require new levels of wisdom, discipline, faith, and responsibility. Allow the Word of God to shape your thinking and guide your decisions.
Furthermore, remember that abundance comes with stewardship. Israel was warned not to forget the Lord when they entered the good land and enjoyed its blessings. Prosperity must never produce pride or independence from God. The greater your resources, the greater your responsibility to honour Him and serve others.
God’s purpose is not merely to change your environment but to establish His character and wisdom in your life. Let your increase be accompanied by gratitude, integrity, generosity, and spiritual maturity.
You are called to live with the consciousness of God’s faithfulness, trusting His provision while remaining diligent in the assignments He has placed in your hands.
CONFESSION
The Lord is my source, my strength, and my sufficiency. He grants me wisdom, understanding, and the ability to fulfil His purpose. I am not defined by past limitations. I grow in grace, effectiveness, and fruitfulness. I receive God’s blessings with gratitude and manage every opportunity with wisdom and integrity. My increase will glorify God and make me a blessing to others. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
