MY ANSWER WILL NOT PASS ME BY

Scripture

“For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.”
— Proverbs 23:18 (KJV)

One of the greatest struggles during a season of waiting is the fear that your opportunity will come and pass you by.

You watch others receive what they have prayed for. You see doors opening for other people. You hear testimonies and quietly wonder, “When will it be my turn?”

But comparison is not faith.

God has a unique purpose for your life, and you do not have to compete with another person’s testimony.

The Bible says:

“For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.”

Your expectation is not meaningless.

However, trusting God does not mean becoming passive. Sometimes the answer God provides requires you to recognize an opportunity, make a decision, take a step of faith, or obey an instruction.

When Jesus called Peter, Peter had to leave his nets.

When God opened the Red Sea, Israel had to move forward.

When the walls of Jericho fell, the people had to follow God’s instructions.

There are moments when the answer is not simply something you receive; it is a door you must have the courage to walk through.

Therefore, ask God for discernment.

You don’t want to miss an opportunity because you were distracted by fear.

You don’t want to reject a door because it looks different from what you expected.

You don’t want to remain in an old season because you are afraid of entering a new one.

Pray for wisdom.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally.”
— James 1:5 (KJV)

God can give you the wisdom to recognize what is from Him and the courage to respond appropriately.

Your answer may come through an unexpected opportunity, a person, an idea, a new responsibility, a change in circumstances, or simply the wisdom to make the right decision.

So remain prayerful.

Remain prepared.

Remain attentive.

And trust God with the timing.

What God truly intends for you will not be lost because you trusted Him.

CONFESSION

I declare that my expectation shall not be cut off.

I will not live in fear of missing what God has ordained for my life.

I receive wisdom to recognize divine opportunities and discernment to distinguish the right door from the wrong one.

I receive courage to act when God gives me direction.

I will not compare my journey with another person’s journey. I trust God’s timing and purpose for my life.

What God has appointed for me will come into alignment with His purpose. I will recognize it, respond to it, and walk in it with wisdom, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

PRAYER

Father, thank You because my life is in Your hands.

Remove fear, confusion, and discouragement from my heart. Give me discernment to recognize the opportunities You bring my way.

When You open a door, give me courage to walk through it. When You tell me to wait, give me patience. When You tell me to move, give me faith to obey.

Protect me from making decisions out of desperation or fear.

Let me not miss what You have prepared for me, and let every step I take be guided by Your wisdom.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
