THE GOD WHO MULTIPLIES
SCRIPTURE: JOHN 6:11 (KJV)
“And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.”
There are moments when what you have does not seem sufficient for what is before you.
The need is greater than the resources.
The assignment is bigger than your capacity.
The vision is larger than your present means.
And you begin to ask, “How can this possibly be enough?”
That is where you discover the God who multiplies.
When Jesus looked at the multitude, the disciples saw scarcity. They saw five loaves and two fishes and concluded that there was not enough.
But Jesus saw possibility.
He took what was available, gave thanks, and multiplied it.
The miracle did not begin with abundance.
It began with surrender.
This is an important principle: God can multiply what you willingly place in His hands.
Sometimes we are waiting for God to give us more before we start, while God is waiting for us to faithfully use what we already have.
You may not have everything you want.
But what do you have?
What skill?
What idea?
What opportunity?
What experience?
What little resource?
What relationship?
What gift?
What knowledge?
What can you begin with?
Moses had a rod.
The widow had a little oil.
David had five smooth stones.
The boy had five loaves and two fishes.
God repeatedly demonstrates that He does not need much to accomplish much.
Zechariah 4:10 says:
“For who hath despised the day of small things?”
Never despise your little because you do not know what God can do with it.
A small beginning can become a significant testimony.
A small business can grow.
A small audience can become a community.
A small investment can become a foundation.
A small act of obedience can open a larger door.
A small idea can solve a major problem.
A small seed can become a harvest.
But multiplication does not mean sitting idle and expecting everything to happen without responsibility.
The disciples had to distribute the bread.
The widow had to pour the oil.
The servants at Cana had to fill the waterpots.
There is always a part that God does, and there is a part He asks us to faithfully do.
God can multiply your effort, but you must make the effort.
He can bless your work, but you must work.
He can give you opportunities, but you must prepare.
He can provide resources, but you must steward them.
He can give increase, but you must develop the capacity to manage it.
Proverbs 14:23 says:
“In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.”
Faith is not an excuse for inactivity.
Prayer and diligence work together.
Today, stop measuring your future only by what you currently possess.
Your present resources are not necessarily the final measure of what God can accomplish through you.
The God who multiplies can take what seems insufficient and make it sufficient.
He can take one opportunity and create many possibilities.
He can take one idea and create multiple streams of value.
He can take one connection and open several doors.
He can take one seed and produce a harvest.
He can take your testimony and use it to encourage many people.
But remember: multiplication should produce gratitude.
When Jesus multiplied the bread, the people were fed, but the glory belonged to God.
When God multiplies your resources, remember the Source.
When He multiplies your opportunities, remain humble.
When He multiplies your influence, remain teachable.
When He multiplies your income, remain disciplined.
When He multiplies your harvest, remain generous.
The God who multiplies is not limited by the size of your beginning.
So bring Him what you have.
Bring Him your skill.
Bring Him your idea.
Bring Him your effort.
Bring Him your little.
Bring Him your faith.
And trust Him with the multiplication.
What looks small today can become more than enough tomorrow when God breathes upon it.
The God who multiplied five loaves and two fishes is still God.
He is still able.
He is still faithful.
He is still the God of increase.
CONFESSION
I serve the God who multiplies. I will not despise small beginnings or allow limited resources to limit my faith. I faithfully use what God has placed in my hands. He gives me wisdom, creativity, diligence, and favor. He causes my efforts to become fruitful and multiplies the results according to His purpose. I will steward every increase with gratitude, discipline, humility, and generosity. My little is becoming fruitful in God’s hands. Amen.

PRAYER
Father, thank You because You are the God who multiplies.
I surrender what I have into Your hands. Where I see limitation, give me faith. Where I see scarcity, give me wisdom. Where I see a small beginning, help me see the potential You have placed within it.
Bless the work of my hands. Give me creative ideas, useful skills, legitimate opportunities, and the discipline to act faithfully.
Multiply the fruit of my labour according to Your will. Let my efforts produce results that exceed what my natural strength could accomplish.
And when increase comes, keep my heart humble. Teach me to manage it wisely, share generously, and always remember that You are my Source.
Let what begins small become a testimony of Your greatness.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
