THE TABLE IS PREPARED

SCRIPTURE

Psalm 23:5 (KJV)

“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”

God’s ability to provide is never determined by the opposition around you. In Psalm 23:5, David reveals the confidence of someone who knows the Lord as his Shepherd. Even in the presence of enemies, God prepares a table for him. The surrounding circumstances do not cancel the Shepherd’s commitment to care for His own.

Notice that the table is prepared by God. This speaks of His care, faithfulness, and ability to sustain His people even in difficult seasons. You may face financial pressure, limited opportunities, or uncertainty about tomorrow, but you can approach these challenges with confidence in God’s wisdom and provision.

However, faith is not an excuse for idleness. The same God who provides also instructs us to work diligently, walk in wisdom, and remain faithful. Philippians 4:19 assures us that God supplies our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. His provision may come through work, new opportunities, the generosity of others, or wisdom for managing what is already in our hands.

Stop allowing the presence of challenges to convince you that God has abandoned you. Keep your heart established in His Word, follow His instructions, and remain faithful in your responsibilities. You do not need to compete with others or compromise your values to experience God’s goodness.

The Shepherd knows how to sustain you, guide you, and lead you into the opportunities He has prepared. Trust His leading, and let gratitude replace anxiety as you walk with Him.

CONFESSION

The Lord is my Shepherd, and I trust His faithful care. I will not be governed by fear or the pressure of my circumstances. God grants me wisdom to recognise opportunities, diligence to fulfil my responsibilities, and grace to manage His provision faithfully. My life will testify to His goodness, and I will have opportunities to bless others. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
