Growing in the Secret Place
Scripture:
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6:6, NIV)
Message:
The secret place is where true spiritual growth begins. It is in the quiet moments of prayer, worship, and meditation on God’s Word that we develop intimacy with Him. The world often focuses on public recognition, but God cherishes the time we spend with Him in private.
Jesus regularly withdrew to be alone with the Father, demonstrating the importance of personal fellowship with God (Luke 5:16). When we prioritize the secret place, we are refreshed, strengthened, and filled with divine wisdom. It is in these hidden moments that God refines us, speaks to us, and prepares us for greater assignments.
If you desire to grow spiritually, cultivate a habit of spending time in the presence of God daily. Seek Him not just for what He can do, but for who He is. The more you dwell in the secret place, the more you will experience His power, peace, and direction in your life.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, draw me deeper into Your presence. Teach me to value the secret place, where I can grow in my relationship with You. Help me to set aside distractions and seek You wholeheartedly. May my life reflect the intimacy I share with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
