The Principle of Putting God First
Scripture:
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33, NIV).
Message:
Putting God first is not just a suggestion; it’s a principle that governs a victorious Christian life. When you prioritize God, you align yourself with His will, inviting His power and provision into every aspect of your life. This principle is a call to surrender, trust, and faith in God’s ability to take care of all your needs.
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus gives us the blueprint for a life of abundance and peace. Seeking God’s kingdom first means prioritizing His rule and reign in your heart, decisions, and daily activities. It’s about pursuing His righteousness—choosing to live in obedience and dependence on Him above all else.
When you put God first, you find that everything else falls into place. He provides for your needs, gives you wisdom, and grants you peace that surpasses understanding. Abraham exemplified this principle when he obeyed God, even when it was difficult. His willingness to put God first brought blessings and fulfilled promises (Genesis 22:15-18).
Choosing to put God first requires intentionality. Begin your day with prayer and Scripture. Let your decisions reflect your trust in Him. When you prioritize God in your finances, time, and relationships, you create space for Him to move powerfully in your life.
Remember, putting God first isn’t about losing; it’s about gaining His presence, provision, and purpose in ways that exceed your expectations.
Prayer:
Father, I choose to put You first in my life. Help me to seek Your kingdom and righteousness in all I do. Teach me to trust You with my plans, resources, and relationships. May my life bring glory to You as I walk in obedience to Your will. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
